I've stared at my laptop top screen for hours now, attempting to articulate my feelings and the proper thing to say. But the truth is, there are no acceptable or appropriate words that can be verbalized. I'm speechless, devastated, angry, and I'm sickened by the abhorrent act of gun violence that occurred in Uvalde, Texas this past Tuesday. I cannot begin to fathom the pain, and the torment, that these families are experiencing; They are living a diabolical nightmare, and surrounded by politicians who do not give a single, solitary, fuck.
The sheer audacity of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to spout bullshit political rhetoric by stating-- mental health was the sole purpose behind this massacre is disgusting! If Gov. Abbott actually believed that, he wouldn't have cut $200+ million in April, from the department that controls mental health programs. Not to mention, Texas ranks dead ass last in access to mental healthcare. This asshole only cares about keeping his 'A' rating with the NRA, as they line his pockets with blood money; While also passing idiotic laws, and attempting to hide the history of slavery and racism in the United States. You cannot make this shit up!
Nothing has pissed me off more than the incompetence that has come out of the Uvalde Police Department. As many as 19 officers in the hallway waiting for an employee to unlock the door, instead of even trying to breach said door with the active shooter in the classroom??!?!?! To make matters even worse, the school district police Hosted active shooter training that is state-mandated, back in March! If you're old enough to remember Columbine, you know police training and procedures changed, because of it. So, this, “good guy with a gun, stops a bad guy with a gun,” narrative is getting flimsy.
I am still grappling with how Ted Cruz graduated from Princeton & Harvard Law School?? While giving an interview with Fox News, his solution in response to 19 children being slaughtered, was, “Have one door into and out of the school, and have … armed police officers at that door.” Ted, what the fuck are you even talking about?? How tone-deaf can you be to have such a moronic take? NEWSFLASH, BUDDY, there are schools all across the United States that house thousands of students! Especially, in the state of Texas, where some of the BIGGEST public schools in the country are located!
Cruz has made it abundantly clear, that he is in favor of defunding public school education. Why? Because, conservatives only want wealthy children to be educated, not poor ones. The absolute hypocrisy that exudes from the GOP, is vacuous. I shouldn't expect anything less from the party that has their lips permanently attached to Donald Trump's ass! But yeah, they're the pro-life, 2A, small-government party, and yet, here they are, banning books, defunding programs to help single mothers raise their children, and forcing women into giving birth… fuck right off. You will NEVER convince me to vote republican, ever.
Gun violence has now surpassed motor vehicle crashes as the leading cause of death for kids, one and older, in the United States. If this doesn't make you fucking sick, you. are. the problem. If you don't see the concern with parents and family members taking DNA swabs due to innocent children being so riddled with bullets to the point that they are unrecognizable, you. are. the. fucking. problem! If you really believe your 2A Rights will save you from a tyrannical government, all I have to say is good luck, Charlie.
